I’ve been reading Rory Stewart’s book about crossing Afghanistan on foot, following in the path of Barbur, the first Mughal Emporer. He writes about the valuations of gardens from the fifteenth century to the present, of the symbolic power of growing unnatural vegetation in a desert environment. Anyway, it motivated the dog and I to wander over to the gorgeous Queen Wilhelmina Gardens over in Golden Gate Park. I’ve put a few more shots in this set. God must love us a lot to give us so many beautiful flowers to enjoy. |
